Thomas Gromas
Thomas Gromas is a Belgian independent contemporary artist who creates text-based relief sculptures. Using the repetition of text to explore various notions of fantasy, reality and contemporary culture, Gromas emphasizes the power of our modern lexicon. Says the artist of his intentions, “The theme I pursue in my work is everyday life. Because of a cascade of influences—politics, television, advertisement—we are not in control of our lives. These are the themes I pursue; the fake reality, the manipulated environment, the artificial life. My works reflect the need we have of always wanting more and never being satisfied." Gromas has shown his reliefs in and around Belgium including Galerie Dessers, Leuven and Gallery L. Mestdach, Knokke.
